Gallery Of Glass For Sale - Pre 18th century Glasses - Glasses based on the Henkes Catalogue

Ordering, Postage, Payment, Import Duty & Safety

These glasses are characterised by lightness of weight and thin-walled bowls and feet, and are made using Venetian and Façon de Venise techniques.

This extensive catalogue is the result of the study of the private collections of Van Beuningen - de Vriese (held in the Boymans - van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam) and Henkes, together with excavated glass from the Netherlands and Belgium. We have based our glasses on vessels from this catalogue.

Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, dated 1578, height 21.6cm. Victoria and Albert Museum, London, dated 1581, height 21.0cm. Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, New York State, dated 1583, height 22.5cm. Birmingham City Museum and Art Gallery, Birmingham, dated 1584, height 16.0cm
